Fev - #VMLS Mixtape Trailer

Fev is getting dangerous! Leading up to the release of 'Propaganda' Fev has been steadily releasing videos for singles from 3:10 to Prop, freestyles, art work and a couple of singles from #VMLS (Voted Most Likely to Succeed). November 1st is the official release date and this trailer preludes the drop.

The jump from the 'Flight 115' mixtape to now is huge and you can clearly hear Fev's lyrical progression and new focus on depth. This new Fev is fully focused and is tipping fans off that upcoming material is going to be extremely potent. I, for one, can't wait for the release.

Statik Selektah - "Population Control" feat. Sean Price & Termanology

Another audio drop from Statik Selektah's "Population Control" album releasing October 25th. This time it's the title track featuring a one two punch from Kimbo Price & Termanology. Of course, it bangs heavy. Just as the other releases have up to this point. This album is shaping up to be near perfect. Could we have a classic on the horizon?

Siya - "Heaven" Music Video

Siya continues to push the envelope with the 3rd installment in her video trilogy directed by Mike Ho. "Heaven" is a neon digital dreamscape tale of seduction and "smoke". It's like the "Watch the Throne" album cover reimagined as a moving picture. It's current and edgy. Right in Siya's pocket; further establishing her as one of the hottest independent artists to watch.

YC the Cynic - "More & More" Music Video

For his very first music video, YC selects the posse cut "More & More" from his 'Fall FWD' album. The track features Soul Khan, Von Pea and Sene. You certainly wouldn't know this is YC's first video by looking at it. Absolute top notch production value and great visual story accompanying the music. I expect nothing less from YC and he always delivers.

Kokayi - 'Pacific Coast Highway' Instrumental Album

Grammy award nominated singer/songwriter/producer Kokayi released one of my absolute favorite albums of 2010. Though it was late in the year, it trumped everything I heard prior in both depth and scope. A truly incredible independent release that Hip-Hop heads need to hear.

I've had the pleasure of sitting in on a couple of Kokayi's Ustream sessions where he goes through his ridiculous catalog of music. When I tell you this guy has beats on deck, I mean he has more tracks than you can imagine.

Today, Kokayi gives us 'Pacific Coast Highway'. This 19 track instrumental album is yet another testament to his musical genius. It's yet another two middle fingers in the air to self imposed limitations, stereotypes and the status quo.
