Livewire - "Dat Kid Cray" (Paris Remix)" Music Video

Here's the challenge - figure out where Livewire is in this new video for his Paris remix. See, what had happened was, he took off without telling anyone to shoot a music video for the sole purpose of letting fans know that he is not kidding when he says, "In my prime, I really am. Gotta ***** crossing the Prime Meridian. I don't even know what time or city I'm in." He came back, edited the footage himself and dropped it on us without warning. Awesome!

Steadily building anticipation for his "No Label 2" album, Livewire is working in overdrive to up the ante from "No Label." If the single, "Winning" featuring Joe Budden is any guage of what's to come then we know it's will off the chains. No pun intended. Ok, it was. Sue me.

Check the video below and hit Livewire on Twitter and let him know where you think he was.

Star Slinger - "Dumbin'" Diplo Remix Audio

The idea that Mountain Dew has a record label is a little unsettling at first thought. It actually makes perfect sense though and if major labels aren't careful, these product companies might be another dagger for them alongside the internet. It also helps when they are cosigning legitimately dope musicians. After all, it's only about the music. It doesn't matter where it comes from.

British producer Star Slinger dropped this Diplo produced remix to "Dumbin'" yesterday and it's on point. I'm new to this artists work but I'll definitely be tuned in going forward. Check out the audio below.

Following up the super dope video for "More and More" last month, YC brings us the North Carolina remix featuring Big Pooh, King Mez and Chaundon. All rappers making their splash from the Tar Heel state. This is a great look for YC!

Livewire - "Winning" Remix feat. Joe Budden

Reeeeeeemiiiiiiiiix! In case you missed the original mix, here is my coverage of this certified banger from Living Inspiration Via Entertainment. Just over a month later, this new remix is out featuring Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden. I don't even have to talk to you about the lyricism on this track. You know very well.

Rubee Rayne - "Not Alone" (Single Remix)

The UK has been bubblin' heavy for over a decade now and their music scene has been at the forefront of Great Britain's new appeal. This young artist is next in the vein of triple threat females that pumped M.I.A. and Santigold. On this remix to the slightly dated "Single", Double R puts her own twist on the syrupy Omen and 40 produced track.

This girl is right up my musical alley and I can't wait to hear more from her. Which reminds me that I really need to go visit London. That's another discussion though. Click. Listen. Enjoy.

Fev vs. Royce Castro

In the spirit of friendly competition, I'm trying this series on for the blog to pit hot indie artists up against each other to see who readers think had the better take on their respective covers, remixes and instrumentals.

In this first matchup, we have rappers Fev from Harlem and Royce Castro from Lawnside, NJ delivering rhymes over the instrumental to Mickey Factz' "Paradise".  I don't know what to call the series yet so, for now it's just Fev vs. Royce Castro.  Let me know who you thought had the more interesting rendition in the comments!

M.I.A. feat. Jay-Z - "XXXO" (Remix)

M.I.A. is steadily building the anticipation for the release of her next full length album.  She brought out Jay-Z for the remix to her latest song from the new album to hit the public.  The track is, of course, signature M.I.A. and Jay's verse doesn't really add to the track but certainly doesn't take away either.  Click below to listen.

K'naan for Coca-Cola and FIFA - "Wavin' Flag"

K'naan has come so far since The Dustyfoot Philosopher.  I remember listening to his first album and thinking that the industry would do everything in its power to keep him from going mainstream.  Maybe it's the fact that he's based in Canada.  It's most likely the fact that he's the realest thing to hit rap music since.....ever.

Coca-Cola commissioned K'naan to remix his song "Wavin' Flag" from his sophomore release "Troubador".  It was named the official song of the FIFA World Cup late last year.  Here is the video for the remix:

Wu-Tang vs. The Beatles - Enter the Magical Mystery Chambers

This get's the official Rox Fontaine seal of approval!  This is a collection of Wu classics stripped to acapellas and remixed to a whole bunch of chopped to bits Beatles samples.  Presented by Tom Caruana, this is SUPER dope material on every layer.  I've never heard of him but his production is top notch and these samples are bonkers.  It's not just mashed together with no real artistry or focus.  This is music that still compliments the dirty lo-fi sound that the Wu became famous for.  You need to download this now and transfer it to your MP3 player of choice immediately.
