G Bar with Karina

Last night I dropped by G Bar in the Bronx to have dinner with Grind Season Radio co-host Air Karina.  While I thought the penne a la vodka with shrimp I had was sub-par, I had a great time kickin' it with my friend for her birthday.  There's never a dull moment when Karina is in the room....unless there's a Yankees or Bulls game on TV.

Janelle Monae - "Tightrope"

I meant to post this a few days ago when it first debuted but I was busy as hell.  Good music doesn't need a time stamp though.

Look for Janelle's album "Archandroid" scheduled to release on May 18th.

KyoChon - It's About Chicken

My objective last night was to get to the Nike x HBO "How to Make it in America" season finale party.  I completed 50% of that objective.  I did get there.  However, while I thought I had fulfilled all necessary requirements to secure my access to the event, I learned when I got there that I hadn't.

I ran into the homie Sean "Paperchasr" Williams and we both decided to steal away to a cozy spot to grab some grub and brainstorm.  We had no idea where we were going when we took off but we ended up at KyoChon Chicken.  I'm very happy that we did as the atmosphere in this place is just crazy!  If you're in the area of 32nd St. and 5th Ave., you should make it a priority to stop by this place and try the food.  You won't regret it.

Madison Goes To Kush Lounge

Madison and I went to Kush Lounge last night to meet up with his new stylist, Nikki. We did some networking, talked shop for a while and then lost ourselves in the music of DJ Lady Chellez. It was a great time and I got to see some old faces that I haven't seen in a long time. (Shout out to Cas!) Eyeris came through later in the evening.

Here are a few pics from the fracas we held in the middle of the lounge:

Kelis - Acapella

Kelis is back on the scene and making a splash in the US.  Not because of her feud with former hubby Nas, but because she has new music out.  The US just generally doesn't "get" Kelis.  She didn't even release 'Wanderland' here because it was just over most peoples heads.  This video is further proof that she prefers to earn in Euros.  I can't blame her.

I've always been a fan of her music and though this is a bit too "House" for my tastes, I love the visuals.  I think you will too.  Enjoy.
