In this era of kiddie-pop tunes, R&B/Rap hybrids and auto-tuned-to-death songs, it is always refreshing to hear artists that JUST "sang". Beyond that, it's even more rare to hear words as powerful and soul stirring as those in Bilal's "Little One". The song and short film tell the story of a family that learns their son has Autism.
The artist himself has a son that has been diagnosed with Autism. The quick facts that trail the video state that 1 in 110 children are Autistic. The number jumps to 1 in 70 for boys specifically. Those are pretty scary numbers. I am the proud parent of a 10 year old boy and I remember worrying very much about developmental disorders, diseases, etc. I was nearly broken when doctors cautioned us that we might have some issues and performed an amniocentesis. Thankfully, we were clear and have a happy and healthy young man.
The issue still hits very close to home as my sister has severe ADHD and at 21 years of age, she's developmentally no older than 15. My mother has struggled for years to keep her in the best schools and programs to help her along. We are very happy that this year she is finally moving into an adult living situation.
Ladies (and some dudes too), grab a tissue as if you can really relate to this one, you will be moved.

OSD - In a class of their own.
The team at Obsessive Sneaker Disorder just released information on their upcoming 8-week class focused on the footwear industry. Titled “The Class: Sneakers, their impact on lifestyles, culture and people in the 21st Century”, the course aims to take attendees to a new level of understanding within the footwear industry. Classes will be held at an as yet undisclosed location in Times Square, NY.
Registration for the class is currently open and space is very limited. You can register NOW at www.OSDLive.com.
It is extremely important that those enraptured with sneaker culture understand that we don't all have to be hapless consumers. There is opportunity to participate within the business of footwear. Props to the OSD crew for continually pushing the limits and exceeding the expectations of the sneaker community.

Soope for Azad Watches
Soope
Azad watches announced their "Legends of the Game" series late last month. This promo song by Indiana's Soope the Roadrunner precedes the official launch of the limited edition watches. These luxurious time pieces will be honoring Hip-Hop legend Rev. Run, NBA Hall of Famer Julius "Dr. J" Erving and international DJ Alex Sensation. The line will include other notable figures not yet named.
Soope has been on a rampage in the last year and this power move is emphatic testament to his marketability. An insider at Azad watches says this video is not the finalized version. Soope and his team are working on an official video, she says. I'll update you as soon as it's available.
The watches range in price from a reasonable $800 up to the $100k range, depending on choice and number of stones and watch style. The 3 year old company has seen it's watches on the wrists of countless athletes, musicians and other celebrities. Jump over to their website to view the hotlist. Selected styles below the video....

Santigold feat. Karen O - "Go"
She's baaaaaaaack! I first saw Santogold, as she was called at that time, opening for Bjork at Madison Square Garden. I was in the front row. After her killer set, I screamed to her, "Where can I buy your music?" She replied, "I don't have anything to purchase yet, but you can go to my MySpace page." A few weeks later her self-titled debut album dropped to critical acclaim and more licensing deals than I've ever seen for a single album.
I've been anxiously waiting for new material from her and today I got my wish. Check out "Go" feat Karen O. It's ILL!
LiveWire - Apex College Tour Freestyle
