Fev - "One Way" feat. Red Inf

I've been waiting for Propaganda to release since I retired Flight 115 from my car. That was months ago but Fev has kept me at the edge of my seat with audio and/or video releases here and there. This new track just hit the web featuring Queens MC Red Inf. I'm hoping this is an official leak from Propaganda.

Far too many NY based artists are afraid to sound like NY these days. This song gives me the same feeling that I had when Nas released "Nasty". I just want to put on some all black Timberland boots and a ski mask and go intimidate somebody.

Check it out. Play it loud!

Muhsinah - "Gone" Double EP

Every now and again I get to hear something that changes everything. Those close to me know that I'm a HUGE fan of Bjork's work. I consider her to be the greatest artistic talent of our age. The reason I bring that up is because I have never heard anyone that I'd compare to Bjork. I would compare Muhsinah to Bjork. She's still very unique and very different but if you know Bjork's work, then you'll understand how and why I say this.

So who is Muhsinah? (pronounced Mu-see-nah) If I told you, it would result in the biggest run-on sentence you've ever seen in your life. Let's just simplify and say, "Di gyal do ev'ry ting, ya 'ear." Everything? "Ev'ry bloodclat ting!" This 6 song double EP is entirely written, produced, arranged, performed, recorded and mixed by Muhsinah herself; save some guitar playing on "Down to 1" and "Stop".

If you've never trusted a recommendation of mine before, NOW is the time to start. Download this immediately and everything will change. I promise.

JF Brooks - "Love Can't Pay My Bills" Music Video

Ahhh...... It's going to be a good weekend!

I first posted audio for this song back in May. The visual hit the web today and it was well worth the wait. This video is ON POINT! Of course, JF's delivery is savage and The Watcherz showed their natural asses on the track. Get lost in the music real quick....

Royce Castro - "C.R.E.A.M. Dreamz" Freestyle

Royce has been bombarding the web with new music and this freestyle hit the web last night around midnight. I was scrambling to get a post up but my computer was a little...ummm...blue in the face. Here's the track over another sampling of this slightly eerie song "Huit Octobre 1971" that I've heard several times on different tracks.

As is standard fare for Royce, he puts his signature delivery on it and it's lyrically outstanding. As he says himself, "I'm cursed with being lyrical." Well, Brother, if being nice is wrong; you don't want to be right.

Rubee Rayne - "Not Alone" (Single Remix)

The UK has been bubblin' heavy for over a decade now and their music scene has been at the forefront of Great Britain's new appeal. This young artist is next in the vein of triple threat females that pumped M.I.A. and Santigold. On this remix to the slightly dated "Single", Double R puts her own twist on the syrupy Omen and 40 produced track.

This girl is right up my musical alley and I can't wait to hear more from her. Which reminds me that I really need to go visit London. That's another discussion though. Click. Listen. Enjoy.

Skotch Davis - "Skotchtastic" Audio

Skotch Davis has a new project in the bag and though a release date has not yet been set, it's dropping, "relatively soon" quoth the promo e-mail from Shameless Management. "Skotchtastic" is the first single from the project, titled 'On My Grizzly: Skotch Tape 2', with production from M. Will the Shogun.  This is my first time hearing Skotch and I have to say that it's damn enjoyable. The production was a surprise to me as well.  I do know M. Will's work and this is not his usual sound. Good to hear him stretching himself.

Check out the audio and let me know what you think in the comments.

Black Rob - "Showin' Up" Music Video

Black Rob is BACK! Signed to Duck Down and looking healthy BR is back on his business. I am a huge fan of his Bad Boy release and excited to hear his new project "Game Tested, Streets Approved". I skipped the Black Rob Report.  I'm going to go hunt for a physical copy of the new album tonight.

Check out this video for "Showin Up". You may be surprised at the direction BR's lyrics have gone.

Pac Div - "The Series" Ep. 1

Pac Div has been tearing it up on the indy circuit for years now and they are now at the point where they are on tour with N.E.R.D. It doesn't really get bigger than that for a group that still isn't "mainstream". This new series, simply titled, "The Series" documents the groups life as they establish a more dominant place in the music industry. This first episode takes you briefly into their creative process and closes out with a short clip of a performance.

Have you heard of Pac Div before?

Congratulations to AVision Magazine!

RoxFontaine.com extends a most sincere congratulations to Amanda Villacis on the successful launch of AVision Magazine!

I had the pleasure of attending the launch party at La Pomme last week and, trust me, it was a blast! This startup magazine was established to give up and coming talent in NYC a new and exciting platform to gain exposure. I can relate entirely to Amanda's vision as that's a large part of the mission of this blog.

Best wishes to Ms. Villacis and the entire AVision Magazine staff.

LiveWire - "Winning"

"I said uhhh..." Hot damn! #datboygood

LiveWire is one of my favorite indie MCs right now. You won't find many unsigned artists as polished as LiveWire is. He's about as complete as you can get; good ear for music, lyrical content, lyrical skill and original delivery.

I've been listening to this song for several days and today it's finally been made available outside of his web community www.imareallivewire.com.

Click to listen and have your eardrums beat up...

Adrian Franks - Pervasive Arts Profile

I had the pleasure of meeting this incredible creative at a birthday dinner for a mutual friend some months ago. After overhearing him talking about advertising, I joined in the conversation looking for some fresh ideas and advice.  We ended up speaking at length about art, music and technology. His insights into Black technology trends completely blew my mind and I am, to this day, still trying to work it all out in my mind.

He just released this short video interview put together by Pervasive Arts. Check it out to see some of Adrian's work showcased and learn more about the man himself. See more works at:
