Only.NY x West Trunk Show

West sneaker boutique hosted Only.NY for the evening in a joint "trunk show".  This invite only event brought friends and fans of the Only.NY brand together to catch early sale of the summer line as well as some very limited early collection pieces.

The crowd shopped, networked and cooled out over free Bud and Bud Light.  After throwing a few back, people took hold of some Krink pens and bombed the wooden Post No Bills sign in the store.  It was a ton of fun watching everyone go crazy.

Only has some really big things on the horizon that I'm not at liberty to share here, but definitely check out what they are doing.  You can check my previous post on the brand here.  Shop and view their lookbook at the official Only.NY site.

Madison was in the building as well taking in the festivities.  Be on the lookout for 'Test Launch' in the near future.  Dude has some seriously dope material in the works.

Here are some other pics from the night.  Thanks a million to B.C. aka Sour Diesel for the invite.  Also special thanks to West for hosting a great event.  Last but most certainly not least, thank you to Mr. Anthony Landi.

Protege - The Blackout

If you asked me what the hottest shoe on the market is right now, I'd answer, "The Blackout!", without a second thought.  The first time I saw this shoe online, I left my house immediately to go buy a pair.  Lucky for me, there is a K-Mart store not more than 15 minutes away from my home.  I say lucky because as far as I know there are only 3 K-Mart stores in New York City.  I wouldn't want to drive 45 minutes to an hour to 34th street or even longer to find a store in New Jersey.

Protege doesn't get much love in the world of collectors.  The price point and point of purchase being the biggest stigmas.  I consider style above all else and these shoes are stylish.  I don't care if they cost $35.00 or $350.00.  I have expensive shoes and that's not what made them stylish to me.  Protege styles seem to really pop in the white, orange and blue colorways.  Show me The Blackout in all black and I'll pass on it every time.  The color blocking on this shoe is fantastic though and really accentuates the design cues.

I've read many reviews of different Protege shoes to try and get a better idea of how well they're being received.  I almost always encounter comments about poor performance.  I've never really picked shoes based on how they perform for sports.  It's fashion first when it comes to my footwear and as long as they look good and are comfortable, I'm in 'em.  The shoes feel solid to me.  I won't be putting any serious strain on them ever, so I was more than satisfied with the feel.  This is my second pair of Protege shoes.  The other pair being the A3H; in white, orange and blue, of course.  I'm looking for the Trifecta in a size 14 currently.  I haven't been able to find them in my size.  They are always too big or too small.

If you're like me and consider style above all else, I recommend you check out Protege shoes.

Freeway & Jake One - "She Makes Me Feel Alright"

Back in late January, I told y'all I was buying two copies of this album.  I really did.  It's a dope album and Freeway definitely knows how to put words over beats.  Here is the latest video from the album, "She Makes Me Feel Alright".  This is one of my favorite songs on the album, so I'm very happy to see this as the second single.  Freeway brings his original flow back and it sounds so good to my ears.  Peep the video and enjoy the sounds.

The Void

It's another one of those points in time where the blog is not being updated with the quality content you've come to expect.  Again, by you I mean you 7 people that read here.  I feel super special now that I've gained 2 additional regular readers.  Go me!

After the two weeks that my friend Kaori was here, I was exhausted.  I ran myself ragged keeping her out, about and entertained.  I had two straight weeks of extremely long days and nights.  My body finally caught up to me when she left and I had time to just sit still.  Then I got swamped with work and the blog has taken a hit because of it.

Fret not though!  I have some really ill material in the wings.  Plus, I'll be out shooting again probably on Thursday.  This weekend I'll be back in full swing for sure.  Don't lose me!
