9th Wonder - "Make It Big"

"I don't think we decide our own legacy, to be honest with you. When you leave the game or when you leave this Earth, people will decide your legacy for you." -9th Wonder

I think I can speak for the Hip-Hop masses here and say that 9th's legacy is well defined. The credits speak for themselves. The hits are numerous. He's one of the best to ever do it!

Check out this video for "Make It Big" featuring some of the many highlights and collaborations from 9th's illustrious career as a music producer.

Extra - "New York, New York" Music Video

About a month ago I happened to be on the set of the first shoot for this video. We had a great location by the water in Brooklyn and perfect weather. After a few edits, 3 weeks and lots of frustration the project and director were canned.

Extra is the debut artist of Pivot Records; a new indy label headed by radio host Xxxotic Mami. To establish a label is obviously no easy task and all of the right pieces must be in place to be successful. Launching your first artist with a lame video and/or song is a surefire way to bury yourself before you start.

Pivot Records then connected with director B-Radical. The result is this new video for Extra's debut single, "New York, New York." Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments. Is Extra on his way?

Late Pass - D.A. the Future - "Addicted"

I don't know how this has escaped me for 6 months. This guy is dynamic and right here in NYC. So I'm taking my late pass on this one but it's all good. What's current is not necessarily what is relevant. D.A. the Future is entirely relevant and this video for "Addicted" has certainly grabbed my attention.

D.A. takes us through a couple of his life experiences that fueled his addiction to music. Healthy addiction may sound like an oxymoron but that's exactly what it is. He found an outlet to express himself in a positive way and he does so with power and grace. D.A. is lyrical, engaging and intelligent. This is an artist to watch.

Sidebar: Be sure to sit through the video to hear from 10 Piece!

Madison - "I'm a Boss" Freestyle Audio

Back in August of last year, Madison released "The Pro Log" exclusively here on RoxFontaine.com. Bronx streets have been clamoring for a new release from their hometown MC ever since but all they've gotten is sparse freestyles. What I know is that Madison is working on "The Pro Log 2" and "Hero x Sidekick" with E. Milz. What I can assure is that the wait will be worth it.

In the meantime, we have Madison's latest freestyle over Meek Mill's "I'm a Boss." Maddy threw his signature all over this one! Listen and download below...

Livewire - "One in a Million" Audio

"All the ladies! All the ladies! All the ladies in the house!"

"One in a Million" is the latest addition to Livewire's public catalog. This track is slick. Just in time for "Boo" season. Livewire delivers his usual clever and rapid fire lyrics directly to the females out there who need a reminder that they are special. Listen and download below...

JF Brooks - "Written Suicide" Audio

The Watcherz and J.F. Brooks are a fantastic combo. They've done it again with "Written Suicide". This is far and away the most personal, poignant and aggressive work I've heard from J.F. Brooks thus far. This is an artist at a crossroad. This is a level of truth that's as heavy on the heart as it is on the ears. It's a new testament to the power of this art.

Sink your teeth into this one. You haven't heard anything like this in a long time.
