DJ Commish Lifestyle Series

 This logo is dope.

The last couple of days at work have been really stressful. Yesterday in particular was over the top for me. I was in desperate need of some stress release, so I headed downtown for DJ Commish's bowling party at Chelsea Piers' 300.

I'm very glad I did. I had a great time meeting new people, watching the Heat vs. Mavs game and listening to the DJs.  I got to see my friend Bee-Ex and chopped it up with a couple of artists new to me.  All in all, it was the perfect end to an otherwise disappointing day.

I think this was a gutter ball.

Much love and respect to DJ Commish for putting this event together. If you interested to get involved in the future, stay tuned to DJ Commish's Blog.  The event is set to be held on a monthly basis. Free unlimited bowling from 9pm to 1am. You rent your own shoes. That's a steal for ANY location, let alone 300.

l-r: DJ Commish, H Da Boss and Bee-Ex

If you have, or you're aspiring to, a career in the entertainment industry, this event is a great networking place. No pretense at all. Just good clean fun.  You'll meet DJs, artists, graphic designers, photographers and more.  If you know like I know, some of the biggest deals are spear headed on the "golf course".  Again, keep an eye out on Commish's blog for future bowling nights.

Check out a couple of shots from the night...

Do NOT drink and bowl!

DJ JS-1 feat. Tonedeff - "Last to Know"

New music from DJ JS-1 and underground legend and Baby Blue School mastermind Tonedeff. This track precedes the release of 'Ground Original 3: Nobody Cares' hitting the streets on June 21st. Don't be the last to know. Get familiar....

Tristate Inventory - "Tristate of Mind Suite"

I've been following Tristate for a while and the build up to this piece has been phenomenal. Finally, he's released the FIRST original classical Hip-Hop piece ever!

The press release reads:

"The featured artwork is from the avant-garde critically acclaimed Irish painter, Chloe Early. 'Tristate Of Mind' is an organic musical canvas with life as the muse. The most culturally relevant composition to date, spanning centuries of symphonic influences.  A new archetype of sound and format, 'Tristate of Mind' raises the future standards of the modern music consumer and composer."

Daaaamn! Click the link above and feast your ears on THIS.

Choklate Sunday - "Overdose" ft. Drake

Remember chasing down the ice cream truck as a kid? As soon as you heard the first note of the Mister Softee tune (depending on your region), it was a mad dash to find a dollar and catch the truck before it left your block. As you ripped and ran the neighborhood, your parents were cleaning house, making Sunday dinner and listening to soul records.

In the spirit of those more simple times, I bring you Choklate Sundays. A series dedicated to Seattle singer/songwriter Choklate. Her style is as sweet and soothing as those childhood ice cream treats. For the first installment, I have "Overdose" on deck. This track is cooler than a Klondike Bar. Press play and let the groove move you.
